Researchers in China have successfully tested a swarm of 10 drones that can weave through a dense bamboo forest without a pilot or GPS.

How it works:

Instead of following a map, the drones "talk" to each other. Equipped with depth cameras and onboard computers, they share sensor data to dodge obstacles and coordinate movements instantly. It is a decentralized system inspired by schools of fish, allowing the group to tackle unpredictable terrain as a single, intelligent unit
