Space balloon successfully tested before tourist flights

Space Perspective has announced a successful test of its Neptune vehicle. It is designed for tourist trips to the stratosphere.
The startup launched the hydrogen-powered vehicle from the Voyager Spaceport in Florida. Neptune climbed to an altitude of about 30,000 meters where it maintained cabin pressure and stability for 6 hours before safely descending into the Gulf of Mexico. This test, called Development Flight 2, was the first time the Neptune capsule reached its maximum altitude.
The company plans to test “Space Balloon” flights with humans in 2025, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in 2026. Concept art of the vehicle shows panoramic windows, a luxurious interior, climate control, Wi-Fi and a bar.
A ticket for Neptune will cost $125,000. According to Space Perspective, more than 1,800 tickets have already been sold.
