Sui is a layer-1 blockchain built around the Move programming language, launched in 2023 by Mysten Labs, a team founded by former Meta engineers who worked on the Diem project. Its object-centric data model and parallel transaction execution enable high throughput and low latency. Governed by the Sui Foundation, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, the network has rapidly grown its DeFi and gaming ecosystem, reaching over $1.5 billion in total value locked.
